DESCRIPTION

If you only have a half-day or a couple of hours to spend in Sapporo, this stroll tour will introduces essential attractions in Central Sapporo: pleasant gardens, parks, notable buildings, museums and breweries. ​I can customize a tour for you on the day or in advance.

• Sapporo Station Area (1hr-1.5hrs): Hokkaido University, Hokkaido University Botanic Garden (open late Apl-eary Nov; ¥420), JR Tower Observation Deck (¥620), Old Hokkaido Government Office Building, JR Tower Square (shopping)

• Odori Park Area (30min-1.5hrs): Clock Tower, TV Tower (¥620), City Hall, Sapporo City Museum, Underground Walkway Gallery, Sapporo Factory, Sapporo Kaitakushi Beer Brewery, Old Nagayama Residence, Department stores (shopping), Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art

• Nakajima Park Area (1hr-1.5hrs): Hoheikan Hall (¥300), Hokkaido Museum of Literature (¥500), Picnic Garden, unique bridge, local shrines

• ​Maruyama Park Area (1hr-2.5hrs): Hokkaido Jingu shrine, Maruyama Zoo (¥600), Okura-yama Jump Stadium (chairlift ¥500) and Olympic Museum (¥600), Climbing Mt. Maru-yama (225m)

• Naebo Area (1hr-1.5hrs): Sapporo Beer Museum, Railway Technical Museum (only 2nd & 4th Saturday)

• Sapporo Tram Line (2.5-4.5hrs): Mt. Moiwa-yama (ropeway ¥1500), Waterworks Museum, Nakajima Park, Tanukikoji Shopping Arcade, Odori Park, Tram Yard, Archaeological Museum

• ​Soen Area (1hr-1.5hrs): Sapporo Outer Market, JRA Sapporo Race Course (Sat & Sun; ¥100)

Drinking under the age of 20 is prohibited. Sapporo's beer breweries offer tasty soft drink for ¥100.

This tour doesn't cover east (Nopporo Forest Park), west (Miyanosawa & Teine), north (Moerenuma Park) and south (Hitsujigaoka, Jozankei) of Sapporo.
