Founded in 1869 as the capital of Hokkaido, Sapporo is one of Japan’s most dynamic and newest cities. Just four Japanese people lived here before the Meiji period, but the population has rising continuously to nearly two million. Today this Japan’s fifth largest city leads the lifestyle and modern culture of the country.
